Many of us tend to forget that we might have hurt others feelings or physically tormented them. We also forget that we should be faithful to our friends despite being in a bad or fighting situation with them. We also tend to forget that we go away from our friends, especially in times of need and sorrow. Most of the time, we put our duties in front of our friends. This is like the story of David and Jonathan.
Before David became a king, he was a great, strong and famous warrior. King Saul wanted to kill him because he knew David might take his throne. So he decided to exile him and kill him so he can stay king longer. Jonathan, the son of Saul, knowing this will happen, he had to choose between duties and friendship. In the end, he chose to help David escape. Jonathan told King Saul to spare David and the king accepted it. This was similar to my experience when I had a to help my friend who was bullied but at that time, I had to give the reply slips to my teacher faster because she would be leaving for the Chinese tour for Grade 8. For giving the reply slips, I got scolded but I knew I did the right thing by helping my friend who was bullied...I felt that this experience made me a better person by teaching me that sometimes friendship is better than doing your work. After the experience, I realized that I was faithful to my friend. This made our friendship stronger and better. I believe that this taught me to help others and I felt good that I was able to help my classmate .
This experince helped me realize that faithfulness is like a plant, you have to grow it, so that it can flourish and bear a good and delicious fruit. Faithfulness is an important element in friendship, relationships and being one with God.
